Welcome Julie Ann Lindsey!!!

Thank you so much Lacey for having me over today! This is my very first blog tour and I’m ecstatic.
In honor of Honey Creek, I thought I’d tell you why I love writing about small towns.

Small Towns. Big Trouble.

I love small towns! When I saw the Turquoise Morning Press’ call for authors, I stopped to see what it was all about. When I read they were looking to create a new line, I put down my coffee. When I saw the new line would focus on a fictitious small town in rural Ohio, I jumped up and down.

I am all about small towns, and small towns are great for storytelling. I live in a small community and things are different here. In small towns, the values are a little higher and the community keeps the citizens in line. No one wants to be persecuted. SO, if you’re living in a place where your neighbor is the pastor and you have to be at church on Sunday or a dozen gray haired ladies will stop by with lunch and start to clean your house, you have to be on your toes! Imagine having a scandalous affair under those conditions LOL My characters have to get creative if they want to get away with anything.

Honey Creek books will come in different genres, but I’m writing sweet romances there. The idea of hiding those first innocent looks and flirtatious encounters from a whole town of onlookers makes me smile. I may have been married a while, but I remember taking interest in my husband and hating how people could see right through me. I didn’t want him to know until I was ready but everyone wanted to tell him. How embarrassing. I couldn’t imagine if the whole town wanted to hook us up! My little circle was infuriating enough. This got me thinking, what if he heard it from the mailman? What if he had a girlfriend? What if, what if, what if…until my Seeds of Love series was born.

In Honey Creek, I have taken loveable, quirky women, all with a reason to NOT be in search of love, and dropped their perfect match right in front of them. Sure, these guys have their own issues, so the whole process is extra agonizing, but isn’t that what makes it fun? Well-meaning neighbors and families and friends add to the mischief and amp up the stakes. I had so much fun writing this series, I wrote a stand- alone for Honey Creek too. Whenever I try to leave this little town, my mind pulls me back to all the possibilities, all the men and women who might give up on romance if I don’t intervene and write an epic love into their future! Ahhh the pressure!

I hope you’ll visit Honey Creek. It’s a beautiful place where anything can happen. Kick off your shoes, relax into that porch swing and cuddle up to a steamy mug of cider. Taking a trip to Honey Creek is as easy as Amazon : ) See you there!

Bloom by Julie Anne Lindsey

In a town filled with her past, she never expected to find her future…

Seven years ago Cynthia left Honey Creek with a broken heart. Three years ago Mitchell arrived with one. Now Cynthia’s come home, and these two hardened hearts can’t stop arguing. If they’d only take a

break long enough to find some common ground, they might be surprised to find love can grow anywhere.

If they’ll let it, love will find a way to Bloom.

*Bloom is book one in my new Seeds of Love series. I’ll be planting those seeds all year.

Forget Me Not - Round Robin (week 3)

Welcome to the third installment to Forget Me Not. If you missed past weeks, here is week 1 and week 2.

****

The morning flew by, just as Jenny had suspected it would. Was that a good or bad thing? That she wasn’t sure about. She’d spent the morning wondering what Nick looked like. He’d been in the army for eight years. She could only imagine at this point that he would have a buzz cut, tan, scars, and muscles. Biting her bottom lip, she knew he’d be handsome. But it didn’t matter how good he looked, he’d left her.

Jenny slid on her favorite black flip-flops. Stopping in front of the mirror, she adjusted her high pony-tail and made her sure mascara hadn’t smudged. She then gave a little tug down to her white shorts that made her slender legs look very tan.

Taking in a deep breath, it was now or never. Never sounded good actually. Why did she have to go? Couldn’t she just stand him up? No. There was no way she could stand Nick up. As much as he’d hurt her, she had to see him.

Her cellphone buzzed in her back pocket. Sliding it out carefully to assure she didn’t accidentally answer it, she saw it was Jeff. With a snort, she rolled her eyes and hit the ignore button. Whatever the hell he wanted, it could wait. She didn’t have the patience to listen to his crap.

The spot she was to meet Nick was in walking distance. There was a small private cove not too far away. They used to sit on the rocks as teens and watch the waves as the sun set in the evenings before he had to take her home. She’d only visited the cove a few times since buying her condo. Each time she came there, it hurt and reminded her that he’d left a spot of her heart broken and she still wasn’t sure how to fix it.

As she was about to approach the spot, her heart raced. She was scared to see him and what feelings it was going to bring back. What if he wanted her back? How was she going to keep her stand that she was angry.

She took a step into the cove and there Nick stood with his back to her, looking out over the ocean. He looked like she imagined, only better. His shoulders were broad in the t-shirt he wore. If he turned, it would likely cling to his pecks. He wore cargo shorts and she smiled. She couldn’t remember him ever not wearing cargo pants or shorts.

Crossing her arms, Jenny made her way closer. Nick turned and looked at her and she gasped. The eights years had been good to him.

They stared at one another for a few minutes before Nick took a step toward her. “Jenny, I’ve missed you so much.”

See ya next time!

Character Interview: An Alpha's Path by Carrie Ann Ryan

**Swag Giveaway**

Lacey: Welcome Kade, I'm very excited to have you here today heating up my blog. I might need a cold shower once you leave. So first off, tell me what is it like being a werewolf?

Kade: Thanks for having me, Lacey. Carrie Ann’s told me a bit about you, so it’s a pleasure to meet you. And I don’t think you’ll need a cold shower, my mate Melanie might get jealous.

*grunts from elbow in the ribs*

Melanie:Go ahead and have fun Lacey with your questions, just remember he’s mine. [Symbol]

Kade: *coughs* Okay, then. What is it like to be a werewolf? Natural.

*Melanie laughs*

Kade: Okay, natural to me. I love the feeling of running on four legs. Plus the idea that I’m long-lived and can spend the rest of my eternity with my soul mate makes everything worth it.

Melanie: Aww, Kade.

Kade: I love you, what can I say?

Melanie: *smiles* I love you too. Plus I swear there is something in the wolf gene pool, because they are all freaking gorgeous!

Lacey: Is this something you keep a secret?

Kade: Yes. We have to. Humans aren’t ready to be introduced to something that can scare them. My Pack, the Redwoods, you never attack a human, but humans might not believe that. They aren’t ready to live with something they don’t understand. But I’m over generalizing here, some humans can take it well.

Melanie: It’s true, well not everyone… *blushes*

Kade: You got over it eventually.

Melanie: But I was almost too late.

Kade: But you did, that’s all that matters.

Lacey: You knew right off that Melanie was your mate. Did you have to be with her, or could you have chosen someone who wasn't your mate to lead the pack with you?

Kade: *smiles* Her honey vanilla scent drew me to her. With werewolves we have potentials in mating. Meaning there a few people out there in all of our centuries of living that can be our mate. *frowns* I actually met another before Mel that could have been my mate. But I’m happy it didn’t work out. The mating urge rode me harder with Mel, and I’m damn happy. Speaking of riding me harder…

Mel: *blushes* SO not the time Kade.

Kade: Hey, I thought this was an in depth interview. I thought Lacey would like to know about last night…

Mel: Lacey, I’m sure you’re fine not knowing everything right?

Lacey: Please share away. :)

Kade: The sex is good, Lacey. And it’s true what they say, “Once you go Were, Others are too much to Bear.”

Mel: That was horrible, Kade.

[Soft Break]Kade: You liked it last night.

Mel: *blushes*

Lacey: Does each mate have a different scent? Is honey vanilla a scent you craved before Melanie?

Kade: Each person has their own scent. Some are stronger than others. I think my brother Jasper said his mate smells like cinnamon.

Mel: Kade. I don’t think you should be sharing Jasper’s secrets.

Kade: True, he has his own book, he can talk then.

Lacey: What is it like being the Alpha?

Kade: I’m not Alpha, yet. I’m only the Heir. My father is the Alpha and I’m following in his footsteps. Honestly, it’s scary as hell. I mean, I’m going to be responsible for everyone’s welfare. I’m going to be the one who makes the decisions. But I know that I can learn from a great example in my father and he has mom to be by his side. I’m lucky enough to have the same in Mel.

Mel: I’ll be with you every step of the way.

Lacey: How are you doing, Melanie?

Mel: I’m doing okay. It was a lot to deal with at first. But the Jamensons are an amazing family that welcomed me with open arms. This whole new world that opened up to me when Kade changed is exciting and more like a family than I ever had before.

Lacey: What can we look forward to? Any other members of the pack getting a taste at love?

Kade: Oh, I think the everyone will find their mate. Jasper just met his, and let me tell you, she’s a lovely girl. You can read a bit about them in A Taste for a Mate coming out in February. My family has been blessed in finding love and I can’t wait to show you.

Mel: Thank you, Lacey, for having us today.

Kade: *kisses Lacey’s hand* Yes, thank you. *grunts* Sorry.

Lacey: *will never wash this hand again!*

Mel: He’s smooth, what can I say?

Kade: Oh, you’ll see how smooth, later tonight.

Mel: *blushes*

My short story Wanted: Wife is part of the anthology Love, Again from Ruby Lioness Press that releases on February 14, 2012
Picture
Blurb:
Darcy White is between jobs and is about to lose everything she has. She reads the help-wanted ads every morning. Day after day, she fails at finding anything—that is, until one morning when she comes across an ad she finds intriguing. The help-wanted ad in the paper states that a man is looking for a wife. Before she knows what she’s doing, Darcy’s exchanging emails with him, agreeing to meet him for lunch.

Steven McDonald is looking for a wife in order to keep his family business, an apple orchard, as his grandfather told him that he couldn’t keep this orchard unless he got married. He gets the crazy idea to put a want ad in the paper. After a lot of nutty women respond, one e-mail comes through with a name that sounds very familiar: Darcy White. He was in love with Darcy in high school, but was too afraid to step away from the popular crowd to talk to her. He spent countless nights just thinking about her. Could this be his second chance?

From the moment they enter each other’s lives again, the chemistry is there. Steven believes that Darcy is even better than he remembered her. This is Darcy’s dream come true; she hopes that Steven might start to feel the same way about her as she feels for him.

What I've Been Up To

1/21/2012

Its been awhile since I just blogged about what's going on in my world of writing. So to start off, I can announce that my story for the Clearwater Series at Ruby Lioness Press, titled Finding Home has hopefully finally found its home. Its been a bumpy road for this series, but I think the multi-author series and my story have finally settled in. I hope to bring more details soon about Finding Home, which is my first romance that is non-erotic. I hope in the future to bring my readers a softer side of me along with the naughty side they are used too.

I finished the third novella in my Hot Bods series, and its titled Accidental Love. I've turned it into my publisher, and now I have to wait as patient as possible to see if they are interested in it. This one is a tad longer then the first two, but my writing is getting better so my word count is improving.

I have another stand-alone novella out in the slush piles looking for a home. Its called Tempting The Manny. I hope to hear something soon - good or bad.

And now onto upcoming releases. Book 2 in the Hot Bods novella series, More Than Useful will be releasing on February 20. If  you click the book title it will take you over to Beachwalk Press where you can learn a little about the story. I also have a short story in an upcoming anthology releasing on Valentine's Day from Ruby Lioness Press. I'm very excited for February! Hurry hurry!!

BUT, February is almost here. And the sale of Amber's Muse will be over. So, if its been on your to be read list, hurry up. Its only 1.99 for a few more days. (on my home page you can find buy links).

And lastly, this past week I was on a radio show. If you want to hear about my book I'm working on and having coming out, give it a listen. And just so you know, I'm the southern one with the drawl. :)
If you made it this far in reading, thanks! I love comments, so feel free to leave one just saying hi. ;)

Welcome Jennifer Jakes

Today I have Jennifer Jakes on the blog today hanging out. Below you will find an interview and an excerpt to her newest book Twice In a Lifetime.

1. Tell us a little about yourself. I’m married to my very own hero.
We live on fifteen acres along with two beautiful daughters, three spoiled cats, three hyper dogs and one fat rabbit.

During the summer we do Civil War re-enacting – it’s a great research tool, not to mention I have continued appreciation for my microwave and hot water heater.

2. What genre do you write?
Historical – mostly western but my latest is a pirate novella

Picture
3. Please tell us about your latest release TWICE IN A LIFETIME and how you came up with the idea.

*** No-nonsense stuntwoman Isabella Douglas will do anything to stop an unwanted divorce and reclaim the happy life she had, even allow her old friend to concoct a magical spell to turn back time. But when the spell goes awry, Izzy finds herself trapped aboard a 1768 Caribbean pirate ship with a captain who’s a dead ringer for her sexy as sin husband, Ian. Convinced he’s playing a cruel joke, she’s furious – until she realizes he doesn’t know her or believe they’re married.

Captain Ian Douglas does not have time to deal with an insane woman who claims to be his wife; he has to save his kidnapped sister. But as Izzy haunts his dreams and fills him with erotic memories he can’t explain, he’s forced to admit he feels more than lust.

Trapped in a vicious cycle of past mirroring present, Izzy knows they only have days to find Ian’s sister and prevent disaster from striking a second time. If she doesn’t, their marriage will be destroyed again – along with the man she loves. ***

This was just one of those ideas that wouldn’t let go of me. I had this image of a kick-butt heroine suddenly dropped onto a 1700s pirate ship. So I had to figure out the who and why……and all the little details.

4. Is it part of a series? No

5. A must have snack while you write.
Depends on the day. And the last time I went grocery shopping! LOL

6. A fact that someone might not know about you.
I know how to drive a dump truck!

7. Advice to writers who have yet to be published.
Study the craft; write the best story you can; never give up!

8. Is there a genre you haven’t written yet that you want to?
Well…..I’m sure I’ll stay in the historical genre but I have several ideas for different sub-genres of historical.

9. Have you written a character that most resembles you?
It would be Izzy from TWICE IN A LIFETIME

10. What type of hero do you enjoy writing about?
Alpha – emotionally wounded

11. What are you currently reading?
I just finished A BEAUTIFUL CAGE by Alyson Rueben. It’s fantastic!

12. What are you currently working on?
A new western novel, ALASKAN HEAT, set during the 1898 gold rush
