Announcing the first release of the Napa Valley Naughties by Sonia Hightower
There’s a reason the room on the ladies only wine tour is so cheap… There’s only one bed!
But it’s big enough for three…
Girls just wanna have fun and what better way to do that than a weekend wine tour? Rozella needs a break from caring for her mother and her friend Nicole is newly single and in need of a respite from her own troubles.
Their eagerness turns to mild dismay, however, when they discover they got a great deal on a fancy hotel room only because they’re apparently sharing a bed...a bed big enough for three. Will they make use of it? They may have a willing bedmate in the form of a sexy tour guide. But first, they must uncork their inhibitions.
2013 is right around the corner. 2012 was an awesome year for me. I had multiple releases, I hit a few milestones, and over all a very successful year. I'm giddy to see what 2013 has in store.
Releases in 2013 are going to be a variation of sweet, in the middle, and erotic. This year however I am trying to expand my sweet romance back list. I have found I really enjoy writing this genre.
This year also I am trying to write longer. Last September I wrote a 50,000 sweet, Bidding Wars, and its been my longest to date. This one doesn't have a home yet, but I am hoping to does have one soon. I love this story and I think it has a unique story line.
I'm still in love with this cover. It was made by Stanzalone Designs and its perfect for my story. :)
The Naked Truth is a novella (around 20k) and will be available at the end of January. Want to know what its about?
It’s amazing what one can find in strip clubs…
Josh Carter gets the shock of a lifetime when he shows up at a place of ill repute for a business meeting and sees the one that got away gyrating on the stage. Abigail Reese—the girl with so much potential, the girl that took his heart along with his body one night long ago—what brought her to this level?
Though stripping is not what Abigail set out to do, it’s putting food on the table and a roof over her daughter’s head. But just how much can she reveal to Josh without risking it all?
When Josh causes Abigail to lose her job, she has two choices: come clean about her past and her situation or push him out of her life as quick as he came into it. It’s up to her…only she has to think of her little girl too.
As a sophomore in college, Samantha Reddick meets Tony Amaya, a brokenhearted young man, whose written words she keeps as a memento of a weekend long affair. The words, written on the back of a paper placemat, become her only solid ground during a tumultuous decade that nearly destroys her, leaving her searching for answers at the bottom of the bottle. Haunted by guilt and the constant menace from a man she once loved, Samantha searches for Tony and inserts herself into his life through an online friend request to his wife, Gwen. Mutual curiosity opens the door to an unexpected friendship that becomes the catalyst of an inner battle between the better woman Samantha longs to be, and the Samantha who despises her own gaze.
Being a writer has high times and low times. This week I'm experiencing some low times. But you know what, it's okay. Because for all I know something better than what I had wanted is waiting for me. Maybe I took the wrong path for wrong reasons and had to get knocked back to take a moment and rethink.
In 7 days I have gotten 3 rejections. Two on The Naked Truth (a novella) and one of my full-length sweet, Bidding Wars. Part of me wanted to climb in bed today when the third rejection came in right after the second. But then I stopped and thought, it wasn't meant to be. Just because they didn't like my stories doesn't mean someone else won't. It doesn't mean I've failed at writing. It just means that they weren't right for me, as I wasn't right for them. And that's okay.
Can mixing business and pleasure ever result in a happy ending?
