1. Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a Ghanaian American romance author who currently resides in sunny San Diego with Hubster, Bratlette, and Wonder Dog. I primarily write sexy superheroes paranormals and sexy interracial contemporaries. 2. What genre do you write? I write in Paranormal Romance and Contemporary Romance. I’ve got a YA or two brewing too. 3. Please tell us about your latest release Sexy in Stilettos and how you came up with the idea? For me Sexy was so fun to write. Jaya is probably the character that’s most like me. She’d hyper-organized and loves her plans and has no idea what to do when life throws her a curveball. My husband, though, an engineer, is far more spontaneous than I am. So I started wondering what would happen if you paired someone like me with an extreme opposite fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants kind of guy. 4. Is it part of a series? Sexy is the first of the In Stilettos series. Sultry will be next and Sassy will be early next year. 5. A must have snack while you write. Dairy Milk chocolate bars. If I’m lucky and made it to the British shop, I prefer the one with Hazelnuts J 6. A fact that someone might not know about you. I used to be a state track and field champion. Many many many…well a long time ago. 7. If you had to choose a favorite book that you’ve written, which would it be? Nooo. You can’t make me pick just one. They’re all special in their own way. Wait now, I sound like that mom who says she loves all her children equally. Lol. We all know she has a favorite. If you twisted my arm, I’d have to say Reluctant Protector simply because I’ve always wanted superpowers. But Sexy in Stilettos is so dear to me because Jaya is the most similar to me. 8. Advice to writers who have yet to be published. Don’t you dare give up and write your ass off like your future happiness depended on it. 9. Is there a genre you haven’t written yet that you want to? YA. I’ve got a couple of stories brewing, but they’re not ready to be written yet. When they are, they’ll pop into my head and refuse to leave until I evict them. 10. Any quirky habits? When I’m writing? The only really weird tick is I have to follow my plan. If I know I’ve got edits on one book an outline for another and a spew draft of another, I have to follow the plan. If I deviate, I get pretty overwhelmed then give up and watch Bravo for more hours than can possibly be healthy. Other than writing, I have too many to recount, but my husband says I apparently sleep with my eyes partially open. 11. Have you written a character that most resembles you? Jaya for sure. God I hope I’m not that crazy, but she’s most similar to me. 12. What type of hero do you enjoy writing about? Erm, sexy ones! Lol. In all honesty someone I would want to have a conversation with. So witty and sharp and quick. Of course a pretty face and six pack abs don’t hurt. *shrug* You need something to picture when you write a love scene ;) 13. What are you currently reading? Well I literally just finished The Hunger Games, I’m anxiously awaiting the next JR Ward novel 14. What are you currently working on? Next in line is Forsaken Protector, the sequel to Reluctant Protector, then comes Sultry in Stiletttos, the sequel to Sexy. 15. Anything that you’d like to share. That readers can find me any time here: www.nanamalone.com www.facebook.com/nanamalonewriter www.twitter.com/nanamalone Or via email: nana@nanamaloneromance.com Thank you so much for hosting me, it’s been really fun!

My name is Thaddeus Kane. I exist in Los Angeles, the city known for the hustle of Hollywood, an average 266 days a year of sunshine, and smog. That’s not my L.A. I operate under the mantle of the city as a troubleshooter for the demon clan who saved my life. Not a bad job if I can stay alive, but I have my limits. I refuse to risk innocents, which causes me problems. That one line I won’t cross for anyone. Loyalties—I have them. I’m pretty sure none of my associates would approve of my particular choices. Human sorcerers are murdering my clan to harness superpowers and I’m the only one capable of finding the evil. A tough assignment, made harder by my secret alliance with a rival demoness to save prophetic teenagers from the same horrible fate. I’m all they’ve got. Its Monday, yet again. This day always seems to come. And today, I have a full head of me. I have work to get done for Sizzling PR and a book to complete. Though, the book won't be complete today, my goal is by the second week in June. Up until last night, with the move and all things associated, my creativity was zapped. But finally, last night I re-read what I had and added 3,000 words to Bare Necessities. Yay!
Bare Necessites is under contract with Ruby Lioness Press and will also be part of the Clearwater series, like Finding Home. This is going to be a cleaner romance also. Though, from the story line, you'd never guess. Ava Miller (Julie's cousin) has moved to Clearwater to start over and open a lingerie shop. Only, the town sheriff, Ryan Ryder wants to run her out of town. If only it was that simple. Ava is a hot italian and Ryan is incredibly drawn to her. I'm having a lot of fun writing this one. These two are always fighting, so once they finally just give in and admit their feelings, its going to be fireworks! So, that's this week. Once I get Bare Necessities done, its Oppostites Attract (Hot Bods 4), and the sequel to Sarah's Chase. Busy summer ahead! Be sure to stop by and see Carrie Ann Ryan and Lia Davis for their Manic Monday updates as well. The question on most authors mind is, am I promoting too much or too little? Will tweeps hate me if I tweet about my books to much? How many posts a week can I put on facebook about my work before people get annoyed?
I wish I had the answer to this. When it comes to twitter, I think as along are you aren't just a promo tweeter, you're good. Seriously, something you tweeted twenty minutes ago, most likely will not be seen by someone who logs in right now. Not unless they go to your profile. Twitter is fast paced. Most weeks, I get on tweet deck and schedule some book related tweets to go out twice a day. There are times I get carried away and do this for several books a day and get worried it is too much. I will become that tweeter we all have in our streams. And I like to think that my other clever tweets during the day will make up for it. Who knows? I'm sure I annoy someone. But, this isn't a weekly thing either. I forget...a lot to schedule tweets. Though, when I do remember, I see sales. Which brings me to this point. My income currently is to sell my books. I don't have a day job. The only income I contribute to my family is from the sales of my books. So, why wouldn't I push it some? If I don't, the husband will be kicking me out soon to get a 'real' job as he calls it. We just need to be conscious as to how much promoting we do. Let's be honest, tweeting every hour on the dot about your book is to much. Tweeting in the morning or evening to reach readers when they are home, not a problem. If you have say, ten books out, don't tweet each day about them. Now when it comes to facebook, its different. Honestly, I don't do to much promo on there, except when my books first release to let readers know. Facebook is a whole other world from twitter. No one likes their stream flooded with multiple posts from the same person. My opinion, keep it fresh on facebook. Got a giveaway going on, mention it in the beginning and a reminder before it ends. I am no promo expert at all. I am leaning day by day. But, this was on my mind today. So, I just though I would share my two cents. Sell your books, just don't over sell yourself. Available Now!![]() An unexpected pregnancy brings Julie Miller home to Clearwater, Wyoming to get guidance from her mother. But when she returns to the home she grew up in, her mother isn’t there. Instead Julie finds Mark Thomas, who is renting the house while her mom travels the country. If that isn’t bad enough, a blizzard hits the town, keeping her locked in with the hunk who happens to have a secret of his own, which Julie just has to know. Excerpt: The sun shined brightly through the windows. Julie wished now she had noticed the blinds were open last night. Pulling the sheets over her face, she closed her eyes for a few more minutes as she tried to wake up. Finally, after battling with herself, she climbed out of the bed. She put her jeans back on and then pulled her hair up in a ponytail. A sudden urge to use the restroom took over, and she rushed toward the bathroom. This was something new—no bladder control. She didn’t expect to already have to pee so much. She quickly brushed her teeth then made sure everything was tidy as though she hadn’t been there. Grabbing her suitcase, she left the room. She expected to find Chloe up front, but she was nowhere to be seen. So she stopped by the front desk and scribbled a note, thanking Chloe for the stay and saying they would talk soon. After all, she was going to need someone during this process. As young girls, she and Chloe had always gotten along. Outside, the sun was bright. There was a chill to the air, however. The few clouds in the sky were thick and fluffy. She bet there would be a light snow shower before the day was over. In fact, she was surprised to not see any snow on the ground yet. It would be anytime now. The drive to her mother’s house was short. She lived on the older side of town, and it was unchanged except that the trees had gotten taller. Julie was excited to see her mom. It had been almost a year since she’d seen her. Julie had flown her out last Christmas to visit her in New York City. She’d taken her mother everywhere, showing her every tourist spot there was to see. Her mother had loved it and said it had always been a dream of hers to travel. Julie hoped one day her mother would get to. Her father had died about ten years ago, and her mother had never remarried. She had a few close friends, though, and maybe one day they would all get together and travel. But for now, Julie needed her mom. She couldn’t wait to have her mother embrace her and hold her tight, telling her it would all work out. She pulled up to the house. It looked the same. A small ranch-style home painted a light blue color. It was time for a fresh coat of paint, that was sure. Perhaps she could get someone out here in the spring to spruce the place up. Her mother’s car wasn’t in its usual spot but instead pulled over near the picket fence. A pick-up truck sat where the car was usually parked. Maybe something was wrong with the vehicle, and she was borrowing the truck. Climbing out of the car, Julie could smell bacon. A smiled crossed her face. Her mom was cooking breakfast. Shutting the car door quickly, she went up the front steps two at a time. As she turned the doorknob, she found it locked. Groaning, she dug through her purse until she found the key to the house and let herself in. Loud music blared through the house. It was set to a local country station. This was so unlike her mother. In fact, as Julie looked around the living room and saw how untidy it was, she wondered if she was in the right house. Following the smell of food, she stepped into the kitchen. Julie froze. A half-naked man stood at the stove, flipping pancakes. It was as if he sensed he was no longer alone. He turned, and Julie thought she was going to faint. “Hi,” the man said. “Who the hell are you, and where is my mother?” Julie demanded. Its Monday again and wow, what a week. I was off from all type of work last week to move! We are now all moved into my parents and patiently awaiting closing on our new home. Yes, you read that right, we FINALLY have a new home under contract. Yay! We can't wait.
This week, its catch-up week. I have got to get my edits finished on Bound By Pleasure, which releases in August. And I need to finish writing Bare Necessities, which is also part of the Clearwater series like my latest release, Finding Home. So, this week, my post is short. I hope to have more to share next Monday. :) Hop over and see Carrie Ann Ryan and Lia Davis. Happy Monday! Today I have Morgan Hannah MacDonald on the blog talking about her new story, Sandman. Sit back and enjoy. 1. Tell us a little about yourself. Morgan Hannah MacDonald writes Romantic Thrillers that are NOT for the faint of heart. She has always been interested in writing and serial killers, but it wasn’t until she found she had dated one herself that a true writer was born. She belongs to Romance Writers of America, the San Diego Chapter, as well as the Kiss of Death Chapter. She resides in San Diego, California where she is busy working on her next novel. She can be found at www.morganhannahmacdonald.com. And http://www.facebook.com/#!/ MorganHannahMacDonald.Author. Or you may contact her at morganwrites@yahoo.com 2. What genre do you write? Romantic Suspense/Thrillers 3. Tell us about Sandman and where the idea came from. SANDMAN is the story of a woman who has been targeted by a serial killer. The killer is someone she has dated. Unfortunately, it is not known if this man is someone she is dating now, or someone from her past. The idea for SANDMAN was inspired by my own realization that I had dated a serial killer. When I found out I was shocked, of course, but at the time I didn’t know just how fortunate I was to have survived. I just thought; Wow, I’m lucky he wasn’t crazy when I dated him! In denial much? So while I was getting ready for this blog tour, I googled his name to check on the date he was apprehended. I was right, it was my birthday 1998. There was an extensive article about him and as I read it, I was blown away. He did have a troubled past. He was discharged from the Marines in the 1980’s for mental problems. Eight years prior to our brief relationship he had been arrested for the brutal rape and beating of a prostitute. The case was dropped due to lack of evidence. And his killing spree began three short years after we broke up. 4. Is it part of a series? I have left it open to be a series in the future. Perhaps after I finish my Spirits Trilogy which I’m writing now. 5. A must have snack while you write. Smokehouse almonds. 6. A fact that someone might not know about you. In my twenties I sang in a punk band. 7. If you had to choose a favorite book that you’ve written, which would it be? Well, SANDMAN is a very personal book for me. A lot of it came from personal experiences. 8. Advice to writers who have yet to be published. Join Romance Writers of America. 9. Is there a genre you haven’t written yet that you want to? Nope, I love the one I write 10. Any quirky habits? Not that I can think of. 11. Have you written a character that most resembles you? Meagan McInnis, the heroine of SANDMAN, is loosely based on me. I say loosely because I gave her the looks I wish I had and she’s much healthier. I don’t get up at six in the morning and jog along the beach! But her personality is pretty much mine. Also, her misadventures in dating are all inspired by true stories. So when you read SANDMAN, don’t go thinking that all those things couldn’t happen to one woman, because they did. Including that icky boss of Meagan’s. And many more. I could fill a book on the crazy guys I dated after my divorce. I wouldn’t even have to exaggerate to make it interesting! After all, how many women do you know have dated a serial killer? So when women say they have lousy luck with men, I’ve just got to laugh. Seriously? I’ve got you beat sister. 12. What type of hero do you enjoy writing about? The same ones I like reading about. Sexy alpha males. 13. What are you currently reading? THE IDEAL MAN by Julie Garwood 14. What are you currently working on? I’m getting SPIRITS IN THE TREES ready for release. 15. Anything that you’d like to share. I’d just like to thank my readers. They are the best. Without them, I wouldn’t be here. Thank you for being here! :)
