Thanks for hopping by my blog! There are some awesome prizes associated with this hop. The grand prize and then one from me as well. I am offering up a copy of Accidental Love. The third book is my Hot Bods series. This is one of my favorite books I've written so far.

Before I get to all the little details on the giveaways, I wanted to share a little bit about my take on romance. Most of the time we think of flowers, chocolates, romantic dates, and such. And yes, those are very romantic, but what I love is for my husband to just make me feel special. To remind me that I'm his and no one elses. And sometimes just routine can do that. The kisses we always share when one of us leave or come home. The goodnight kiss. The kiss just because. Little love taps as I cook dinner. I don't need flowers to remind me he loves me. All I need is him and his attention. We still talk a lot. We've been together 11 years and he still talks to me...so I think that's a good sign.

So now I want to know, aside from flowers and candy. What does your significant other do that you find romantic?

  1. Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up watching Star Wars over and over again until I could recite and reenact every scene in my backyard! I then followed a career as a flutist and only started writing in the last six years when my flute students urged me to write down the stories I made up in their lessons to go along with the music.

2.What genre do you write?
Primarily fantasy and science fiction. But, I am working on a contemporary romance- my very first one!

3.Please tell us about your latest release, A Hero Rising, and how you came up with the idea?
I’d just finished Tundra 37, the second book in the series. I’d left one of the characters stranded without the happily Ever After that he deserves, so I decided to follow his story with a prequel book.

I wanted to write a story about two friends from a small town going on vacation for the first time together. Kimberly my heroine has just broken up with her cheating boyfriend and just wants to forget about the opposite sex all together. Her best friend Amber has other ideas on how Kim should heal her wounded heart, like a vacation fling.

The first day at the beach Kim notices the very hot lifeguard. Amber can’t seem to convince her that he seems interested in her.

When a mishap in the water brings Kim and Daniel face to face sparks fly.

As I wrote At sunset I remember my first vacation with a friend, I was twenty-one and we went to Daytona Beach. In my case no vacation fling happened, we just had a great time hanging out at the beach and bar hopping! So maybe this story was what I wished happened ;)

At Sunset is told from Kimberly point-of-view only. I’m going to write a sequel called After the Sunset, this will be in Daniel my heroes point-of-view. After the Sunset will start a few weeks after At Sunset.

I’m giving away a FREE digital copy of At Sunset today. To enter to win leave a comment with your email address!

1. What is your real, birth name? What name do you use?  My full name’s Jackson Robert Payle, Jack for short.

2. Do you have a nickname? What is it, and where did you get it? Naw, I don’t have one. Always figured Jack was my nickname – and honestly, it’s the only thing Gillian cries out so I’m happy with it.

3. Where do you live? Describe it: Is it messy, neat, avant-garde, sparse, etc.?
At the moment we live in a single story rancher. Insanely neat, with a western feel to it. Gillian redecorated, and keeps it up. She can be a bit of a slave driver when it comes to keeping it clean, especially if she’s upset.

4. What was your family like?
Amazing, warm, I had a great family. Mom and Dad supported everything I did – well as long as it was legal and didn’t hurt anyone lol.

Don't Rush It!

8/12/2012

So you finished your book. Now you want to polish that baby up and turn it in! SLOW DOWN! Don't rush. This isn't a race.

Ok, so I need to take my own advice sometimes. Its thrilling when you finish your story and you want to get it into your editors/publishers hands right away. But you know what, your editor most likely wants you to take your time.  The sloppier the copy you send, the longer edits are going to take and it might even push off that release date.

I just finished the last book in my Hot Bods Series. The third book published in June 2012 and I had hoped all four books would release in 2012. Well, we don't always get what we wish for, do we? Its doubtful Opposite's Attract will hit reader's eReader's until early 2013. Even if I got this sucker spit shined today. I am slightly dispointed I didn't get the book done when I wanted, but life happens. And a lot of life has been happening here lately.
