Welcome Emily Cale

1. Welcome Emily Cale. Tell us a little about yourself.
First, I want to thank you for having me on your blog today.
It's always hard to figure out what to say about myself. I'm a PhD student by a day and an erotic romance writer by night.

2. What is the genre you have chosen to write and why?
As I said before, I write erotic romance. As for why, that's a far more difficult question. For a number of years, I jumped around writing different genres. None of them really felt right or stuck for me though. I discovered erotica writing while snowed in and thought, "Hey, I could do that." It was (of course) much harder than I thought. It was a good fit for me though and I've been writing it ever since.

3. You have a release tomorrow, November 30th 2011 titled Honeymoon Suite. Please, tell us all about it.
Honeymoon Suite is a short story that follows Laurie and Matt, a couple who have been waiting until their wedding night to have sex for the first time. I like to think that it is both sweet and very hot. The idea for this came to me after talking to a bunch of my friends who are in a similar position to the main characters in the story. I really wanted to capture not all the physical, but the emotional aspects of that night.

4. When writing, what is your favorite snack?
Does coffee count as a snack? Probably not. Okay, then anything salty. I have an unhealthy relationship with things like pretzels, chips, and popcorn.

5. Are you a morning or night writer?
I'm a night writer only because that is what fits with my schedule. If I had my way, I'd write very early in the morning and be done with everything by lunch. I have other things on my plate (like my day job) that keep me from really being able to do this.

6. What is your biggest challenge as an author?
Shutting out the voice in my head. I'm still learning to overcome the little voice in the back of my mind that keeps telling me that my work isn't good enough. It's a hard things, but I've found that often turning off the internet and focusing on my work (instead of what everyone else is doing) is a big help.

7. What is the favorite book of yours that you've written?
Well, normally whatever one I've just finished is my favorite at the moment, but I have to say that TAMED will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first real piece I submitted anywhere, my first contract, and my first release.

8. And finally, anything else you'd like to share?
Thanks so much for having me here today. I really enjoyed answering these questions and hanging out. Honeymoon Suite comes out tomorrow (yay!) from Ellora's Cave.

Blurb for Honeymoon Suite:
Laurie had practically given up on finding someone who was willing to save sex for marriage. Then she found Matt, an amazingly wonderful and sexy man who was willing to wait until after they said “I do.”  Now that the ceremony and reception have finally ended, she can’t wait to get him up to their hotel room, hang up the “Do Not Disturb” sign, and spend the night acting out all the dirty fantasies that have filled her head since their engagement.

Matt can’t think of anything he wants more than to please his new wife. She’s always been shy and private, but on their wedding night, she turns into an irresistible vixen. Nothing would make him happier than spending the entire night exploring every curve of her luscious body.

The two newlyweds are finally alone together and the whole evening lies ahead. Laces and buttons will come undone, and Matt and Laurie will find out if their wedding night will be everything that they’ve been waiting for.

Bio:
Emily Cale spent the majority of her childhood as a visitor to the worlds of her favorite authors. With encouragement from her English teachers, she put pen to paper and began imagining her own stories. Preferring the fascinating lives of her characters, she majored in creative writing. When not lost in a manuscript or a good book, she enjoys crocheting, rock climbing, and playing board games. She currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with her husband and a very spoiled cat. You can find her on her blog (http://www.emilycale.blogspot.com) or procrastinating on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/EmilyCale)

Please welcome Tamaria Soana to my blog today. I'm very excited to have her today. She has recently sold her first novella to Midnight Magic Press. Her book Obsession will be available March 2, 2012.

LW: So, you’ve gotten a contract on your book Obsession. Congrats! The neat thing people don’t know is that you are still writing the book. Tell me how is this going?
TS: I'm, almost done! I wrote the climax today, I'm three chapters away from it being complete. I decided at the last minute to add a chapter in the middle, therefore affecting the following chapter. So I had to edit and tweak some scenes.

LW: Do you fear the brick wall that will throw you off schedule? (brick wall…aka writers block?)
TS: No, but now that you brought it up I do. LOL!  All the main scenes are written, I just need to knit them together. I have been frustrated with the technical aspect of this story, I really never want to research stalking and the crazy things stalkers do again. I wrote and rewrote many scenes, I just wanted to get it right and for it to be as realistic as possible.

LW: Now, tell is the fantastic blurb for this book.
TS: Obsession's synopsis
Alexandria Stevens is a New York Times Best Selling romance novelist. She is married to the very handsome and business tycoon Hudson Smyth. After she does a guest appearance on a popular talk show, she creates a twitter account. Within a few short weeks she meets a fan of hers Jillian on twitter. They become fast friends, or that’s what Alex thinks. When Alex finds herself being stalked, the person she least expects is her new friend. What she doesn’t know is that Jillian has been obsessed with her for years. She wants everything she has, even her husband.

LW: Any tips for aspiring authors?
TS: Never give up! Dreams do come true. On the wall near my desk I have my favorite quote, Reach for the moon, if you miss you will land among the stars.

LW: What is a must have food to snack while writing?
TS:  Popcorn, chips, or pretzels.

LW: Favorite Thanksgiving dish?
TS:That's toss up between the turkey and mashed potatoes.

LW: Holiday shopping tips?
TS: I wait for until the last minute. My tip would be NOT to wait until the last minute. I find that I'm always stressed the week before Christmas.

LW: And finally, is there anything you would like to share?
TS: I'm working on my next book called Southern Embrace.

Southern Embrace's  Synopsis

When the man you thought was your forever is suddenly stolen away, can an old flame spark a new love?

Savannah Clark’s high school sweetheart, Lance moves away after graduation. He cuts all ties with her, leaving her devastated. A year later she meets the wonderfully handsome and older Stephen Grant. He sweeps her off her feet, showing her passion she never knew existed and what it's like to be truly loved. They soon marry and start their lives together. A terrible accident changes everything and Savannah is left heartbroken and a widow at the young age of twenty-two. When she least expects it, she runs into the man that first touched her heart, Lance. Can she get past her broken heart and find love again?

My goal is to have Southern Embrace completed by the end of the year.

Thank you for being here. I'm looking forward to your release.

Hi and welcome to my Six Sentence Sunday. Today I have taken six sentences from a naughty scene in my debut novella, Amber's Muse

Quick background:
Amber has just finished pleasing Jax and herself.
******
"Wow, that was the best head I think I have ever had," Jax said breathless.
"I'll take that as a compliment. I never knew doing that could get me so hot."
"Do you need me to help you out?" He pulled her toward him.
Leaning in closer, Amber rubbed her palms across his chest. "No, I took care of it."
******
Hope you enjoyed this six sentences.

Welcome! I'm excited your stopping by! This week I am giving you six sentences from my debut novella Amber's Muse. Last week many of you asked if I was going to continue from the six sentences I had just posted. Of course. If that's what my reads want.

So a quick background, Amber has just told Jax that she is writing an erotic romance and and asks if he'll help.

This weeks six:
“Are you asking me what I think you are?” Jax's eyes widened.

“What do you think I’m asking?”

“You want to have sex with me to help with your book?”

“Yes.”

Jax stared back, his eyes darkening with passion.

“Where do I sign up?” he responded.
