I had a story brewing in my head for a little while, but left it untouched because life was happening and I had other stories I had to get done. Finally, there was nothing on my plate. I finally started the story and then there was no stopping me. This story flowed and just kept flowing. I decided to push my word goal. My longest published story is 30k, and at first I thought, let's get it to 45k. Then I pushed it to 50. And I'm glad to say at the moment the book is sitting at 50,200. :) Its in the hands of two beta readers right now. And I have a whole list of their notes from the beginning of their reading. So, I have things I need to change and reword. I'd like it if I could add at least another 1000, but you never know what's going to happen on the second draft. I edited this while I wrote it, so I've caught most of the sentences missing words and expanded on areas.
Well, when I set out to write this book, I didn't plan on doing it in a month. But then, I decided, what the heck. Let's try. And here it is the 24th of September and I did it in less then 30 days. It feels awesome. I'm ahead of schedule. I've also decided to try my hand at one of the bigger publishers out there. The ones who will most likely reject me, but hey, I should at least try, right? Right! Must stay positive. They'll either want it or they won't. :) So, now as I wait on feedback from my beta readers, I'm going to clean my house. You know, when you write all day there's no time for cleaning. I have a lot of cobwebs. The bathrooms might need my attention as well. Oh, the joys. As soon as I have more details on Bidding Wars, I will pass it on!

Wow that is a lot. So how many pages does 50,000 equal too? Congrats at it being your biggest to date.

Thanks! On word it was 130 pages I think. Not sure what that translates too in a book. I think roughly a 200 or more pages on kindle.

Congrats on making it to a whole new level length of WIP. It's a thrill to do a WIP that quickly. It nearly killed me (but was also a major adrenaline rush) in 2011 when I did a 92k in 32 days. But it also gives me something to shoot for, and trying to write that quickly helps me shut off the internal editor screaming to stop and rewrite stuff.

Awesome. Congratulations!! The longest story I've ever written is about 43K and I'm still in the process of editing it. I can't claim the fame of writing it in 30 days though.
