Welcome to the second week installment to Holiday Kisses and my story, The Gift Beneath The Tree. Did you miss last weeks, you can find it HERE. Each week, I will be posting from my story, along with other Beachwalk Press authors on their days. And on December 3rd, you can download my book and the others for FREE! Tara won’t be spending Christmas with her family this year, but she’s not entirely alone. Her roommate, Brad, who's currently single, is also at home with her. Tara goes to bed Christmas Eve with hopes Santa might bring her what she most desires. After hearing a loud crash, she goes to investigate, and underneath the tree, she finds the present she’s been dying to unwrap. Part 2Tara cocked an eyebrow at him. “I could certainly ride one of those.” Brad swirled the liquid in his glass and gazed at her. She suddenly felt self-conscious. Had he ever looked at her that way before…as though she was edible? Wait—why was he looking at her like that? Either she was imagining things or he’d had too much wine. Brad had never shown any interest in her as anything more than a close friend. “What do you want Santa to bring you?” she asked. “He already brought mine.” “Lucky you, he delivered early.” “Not quite yet.” Something was different in his tone, causing a shiver to run down her spine and spread to her center. Taking a long drink, she wondered if she’d had too much wine, since it felt like he was coming on to her. “I should probably go to bed.” Tara set her glass down. “So early?” He stuck his bottom lip out, looking adorable. “We usually stay up late on Christmas Eve.” He moved to the seat next to her on the couch. “Don’t you want to stay up with me?” She gulped. Yes! But she was feeling awfully amorous and feared that if he didn’t make a move on her, she might make one on him. It would be so humiliating if he shot her down. He’d probably laugh at the idea that she thought he was coming on to her. It was best to go to bed. “I’m tired,” she said. “All this holiday cheer has worn me out more than I expected. Guess I’m getting old.” She lingered a few minutes, waiting to see if he’d make a move, but he didn’t. So Tara went to her room, closing the door behind her. Relief swept through her that although she was apparently losing her mind, he wasn’t. She changed into a pair of Christmas pajamas. It was silly, she was in her mid-twenties, and she still put on something for the holidays before bed. She brushed her hair and looked at herself in her white cami top with a candy cane in the center. You were never told old to hope Santa brought something good. Turning the light off, she climbed into bed. She forced her eyes closed and prayed sleep would come. But her mind was running a mile a minute. Going to dream world wasn’t going to happen. She picked her smart phone up off her nightstand and opened one of her reading apps. Perhaps she could read until she fell asleep, but as she scrolled through her books, nothing was catching her eye. She loaded up the online bookstore and found herself browsing holiday erotic romance stories. She was horny, but not even one of these books was going to help with the ache she had between her legs. Tara set the phone down and let out a loud sigh. She wanted to go out there, lay underneath the tree in only a ribbon, and perhaps Brad would untie her. Even for just one night, that’s all she needed. A taste of Brad. She rolled to her side and closed her eyes again, hoping the wine would kick in and help her drift off. Finally, a groggy feeling began. Crash! Did you enjoy what you read so far? If so, come on back next Thursday! Also, today Kaylie Newell is posting her story, Winter Break.
Tomorrow, Ashlynn Monroe will be posting an part from her story, Reunion. Don't miss it. See you next Thursday!
