I took a long break. A really long break. I think the last book I wrote with any passion in it was Bucked Off For Love and that was last summer. I did somehow manage to write Love’s Secret in the fall of 2016 for a boxed set it was in for about 3 months. That story lacked my passion as a writer. I’ve sense gotten the story back and haven’t rereleased yet. It needs some serious TLC. Life happened and tons of changes came my way. First I began working part time 3 days a week. And that was a huge change for me, being at home for 12 years. I had a hard time juggling things. As well, some things were going on in my personal life that zapped any creativity.

Last spring I wrote a post about changes coming in my life, and those changes did happen, as much as I fought the idea. I've returned to working outside the home after 12 years home. It's part-time. I substitute teach and I get to pick my days I work, for the most part. It's an adjustment though, even though it's a few days a week. I can count on one hand the amount of days in November I've written. Eek.
On top of working outside the house, my sister-in-law and I launch a LuLaRoe business too. And wow, that's a crazy amount of work too. Trying to fit everything in has been hard, but I'm trying to figure it out all. I think I'm finally at a point where I know the work needed for LuLaRoe and how to schedule that. The weeks new inventory come are usually the busiest due to photos, editing them, etc. My good author friend Ella Jade subs and she gave me the tip to bring a notebook. There are some classes I teach, I have free time. So I want to start writing in a notebook when that happens. Not one, not two, but SIX bull riders to heat up your kindle! Cowboys, Bulls and Buckles is now available and features my brand new story Bucked Off For Love.
Hey! I hope you’re doing well. I can’t believe we are in mid-July, can you? This summer has gone by quick, and I’ve wanted it to go slow so I can enjoy my time with the kids. Which I have. This summer has been different than other summers. Usually I have a good schedule going where I get in some writing, the kids and I have our time, and so on. I haven’t done really any writing but mainly enjoying things I want to do and the time with the kids. I have to admit, it’s been nice to take some time off. One thing about working from home, is often times, it’s hard to get away from the job. The office door is always open and when your mind reminds you of something you forget, you hurry in there and do it, and then five other things. It's release day for me and all these fabulous authors! Today William and Harper get to share their story and I couldn't be more excited. So to get the fun started, scroll on down to read chapter 1!
In less than a week True Love in Laguna will release!!! I didn't even realize that until today. The Laguna Beach Kindle World is set to launch on July 7th! **Throws confetti in the air!** I'm so excited to share this story with you. Readers met William, the hero in True Love in Laguna, in The Maddox Brothers, Part 2 - Liam's story. The Maddox Brothers is a book I co-wrote with Ella Jade about two brothers--two very alpha brothers--who were set in their bachelor ways. In Liam's story, William is dating Chelsea, only Chelsea kinda still has a thing for Liam. Poor, poor William. But don't worry, he isn't going to be lonely long. You're going to enjoy his story as he leaves Boston and heads to Laguna Beach, California. And if you read The Maddox Brothers, you'll get a little update on Hudson and Kennedy. As well, Liam and Chelsea make an appearance! Woot! I hope you're having a fun summer and not spending too much time lost in work. With so many things changing in my life, I've been taking advantage of the summer and really enjoying it. My kids are getting so big and hardly pay any attention to me anymore. They are 9 and just shy of 12. They spend their days in their rooms playing, watching TV, on the computer, etc. We try to go to the pool several days a week in the afternoon to get our physical activity in. We also have this crazy goal to get the house to the point if they want to have a friend over, we don't have to clean before they come. Ha ha, we haven't completed this goal yet. It's a work in progress. I completed my writing work in progress's shortly after they got out of school at the end of May. I've still been working on edits that come for several releases coming up. And I'm trying to complete a book I'm co-writing with someone. But with no major deadlines, which is unusual for me, I've been able to take a day or even two and not really get on the computer. It's been nice--and much needed! |
