I am super excited to have Emma Lai here today. I have read her books and they are great. Please enjoy this interview and giveaway.

1. Tell us a little about yourself?
Well, I'm crazy--though I haven't been clinically diagnosed as such. I hear voices, and when I close my eyes, I witness snippets of other peoples' lives. Seriously. No joke. Where do you think I get all my stories from? :)And I'm also the mother of a precocious two-year old, who sleeps eight or less hours a night and has recently decided nap time is for losers. LOL! So, I'm even crazier than normal these days, but hey, he's great and his hugs and kisses fix all the problems of my world--thought that was supposed to be the other way around, but I'm not complaining if he's not.

2. You write multiple genres. Which is your favorite to write?
My favorite thing to write is action, regardless of genre. This is probably why I write paranormal, sci-fi, fantasy and erotic. All have action, and lots of it. I have to admit, I prefer the first three, but they require a lot of thinking to build believable worlds, so my erotic output is higher, for now.

3. Tell us a little about your latest release Riding Rodeo and don't leave out any details. There are two men on the cover!
The last person Amanda Goodson expected to walk into her bakery was Sean Cassidy, the bareback bronc rider who rode her hard one night and left without a good-bye the next day. Since then, she'd sworn off one-night stands and cowboys, but one look at the man she called Rodeo leaves her hankering for another ride.

A nasty injury ended Sean's career and left him with nothing but time to contemplate past sins, especially the most damning one...walking out on Amanda, the one woman he couldn't forget. Eager to right the biggest mistake of his life, he finds Amanda--and learns he has competition. Never one to back down from a challenge, he offers to fulfill her darkest fantasy--taking two cowboys for a ride.

When the dust settles, will Sean's plan to win Amanda's trust backfire or will she risk her heart for one more shot at Riding Rodeo?

4. What time of day do you write?
In long ago days, I used to get up and start writing first thing in the morning, sometimes even forgoing breakfast. I'd write all day, until hubby reminded me there was a real world. These days, I write in the afternoon. If I'm not completely exhausted and the boy has decided I don't have to play with him, then I'll even write in the evening. (Yes, my son dictates my life. :) )

5. How do you juggle being a mom and author?
From the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. I am mommy. If I'm lucky and my hubby, who owns his own business, doesn't have any jobs scheduled, then I get to be an author between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. However, if he's working then I only get to be an author between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.--my son's nap time. (Like I said, the kid dictates my life. :) )

6. Must you have snack while you craft a story?
If coffee counts as a snack, then yes! I'm trying to cut out snack food, since all my extra weight is turning into muscles thanks to toting 30 lbs of wriggly worm around. Soon, I'll be able to compete in amateur bodybuilding competitions. LOL!

7. Favorite holiday dish.
I honestly don't have one. Mashed potatoes are always good and salads and any kind of vegetable. :)

8. As tough as this is, what if your favorite book you've written?
It's almost always my most recent one. Writing has been an adventure for me. With each story, I learn new tricks of the trade and polish my skills. So, my absolute favorite is a fantasy adventure that's not even published yet because it's the most recent.

9. Finally, is there anything else you would like to share?
One lucky person who leaves a comment will win a copy of Riding Rodeo, and all comments will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to The Wild Rose Press, Amazon or Barnes and Noble (winner's choice).Website: http://www.emmalaiwrites.com

Don't you love how our children get to dictate our days and lead us adults around as THEY see fit? It's a good thing they're so cute, LOL

Riding Rodeo seems to be filled with angst and lots of sexiness and I can't wait to read it! Thanks for the giveaway, Emma!

And Lacey, thanks for introducing me to an author I've never read before!

Morning, ladies. Lacey thank you for hosting me today and for the kind words. :)

Pamela, I've found my life goes much smoother if I let the kiddo dictate it...for now. There will come a day not too far in the future when he'll be off to school, and I'm sure I'll miss "the good ole days." So we're practicing the philosophy, enjoy it while it lasts and enjoying every moment we can of these early years (excluding the teething and unknown bouts of crying in the middle of the night; oh, and the random temper tantrums because something's not quite right for Mr. Goldilocks).

Emma- my oldest is eleven, well past the age we thought the dictatorship would end, LOL. But, alas, much to our dismay (and, okay, okay, maybe a LITTLE joy), the reign continues, though now it's fueled by school and extracurricular events. So between him, the 8yr old, 6yr old and almost 4yr old, we parents are constantly outmatched and outvoted, LOL

Hence my love of romance novels...and Calgon, if I was ever granted the time by their Highnesses to actually use it ;P

Pamela,

We just have the one. I can't even imagine having four. Kuddos to you.

We have temporarily overcome the little man's desire to be in the bathroom at the same time as me. So, at least, I don't have to hear him screaming outside the door for now.

Wait...they're supposed to outgrow/overcome that stage?! LOL

We bought our house a year ago. Biggest draw for it's purchase wasn't the 2 acres, the fenced in yard or the hardwood floors. Nope. Biggest draw was the fact that the master bath is IN the master bedroom and the bedroom door also has a lock on it. Double the pounding barrier, LOL. And yes, as soon as the lock is turned and I step into the bath, the pounding begins. They can't help it.

I'd love to read a novel where the heroine is a mother of many and has the super ability to quiet all her children simultaneously with merely a lift of her eyebrow, LOL

The new house sounds lovely, Pamela. I don't think anyone would believe that particular ability. :)

Pamela! I actually have a novella out in the submission slush piles where the heroine deals with her kids though out the book. If it finds a home, I'll let you know. lol.

I don't only have mu daughter follow me into the bathroom, my car and dog do too. Like its interesting or something.

Lacey, I was wondering exactly what kind of car you had. :) We no longer have the dog who'd follow me into the bathroom. She liked the heat from the shower. Sometimes, I miss her crazy.

Lacey, you had me confused and wondering if you had a bathroom perhaps in the garage, LOL
And I'd definitely read that book though I'm inclined to agree with Emma in regards to anyone believing a mom would have such a power, LOL

Our lab/pit loves the water and tries to shove her way into the bathroom whenever anyone tries to go in. Our hound/pit on the other hand runs away any time the door is opened, he dislikes baths so much. :)

My sister's mini-Yorkie likes to hop in the tub and drink the remnants of the bathwater. Now, that's funny to watch.

Thank you so much, Emma! Will do and I'm excited to read your writing! And, thanks, Lacey, for the interview and intro to Emma's work!

Oh! And the thought of a mini-Yorkie jumping the side of a tub for water is pretty funny, LOL. How does it jump high enough? ;)
