Today I have the very talented, Ella Jade, visiting. She has a new short story out and its part of the ever popular 1NightStand series from Decadent Publishing. Enjoy. :) One Night of NeedSexy Professor Dominick Alvarez has an infatuation with pretty college girls, but he adheres to his strict policy of never getting involved with his students. The years of tempting women throwing themselves at him have taken a toll on the handsome teacher. He wants to give in, so he requests an evening with a younger woman. Alexandria Petron has always had a thing for older men, but she has never indulged. After being left at the altar by her high school sweetheart, she decides men her own age aren't for her. She seeks Madame Evangeline's help in making her fantasy come true. She wants the experience and attention a more mature man can show her. One night of explosive passion ignites a burn that neither one saw coming. Will one encounter be enough to satisfy their secret cravings?

What could be more dangerous than loving a rogue? Condemned as a rogue and punished by his master, Angrail, one of the Seven Paradise Walkers, has wandered mortal and immortal worlds for centuries. He's determined to find those responsible for killing an innocent woman and the child she carried, no matter the cost to himself. Ephynia, a demoness with scars, has spent a lifetime serving Nerafail, Lord of the Dead. When she unwittingly stumbles upon the one being who can end her loneliness, the battered Angrail, her life changes forever. Unknown to Angrail and Ephynia, evil lurks in the shadows. There are those who believe Angrail and Ephynia are the key to preventing a coming war—a war that they need to take place—and they seek to end their lives. Can Angrail find love in the arms of a demoness at war with herself? Or will the secrets hidden within the bowels of their worlds destroy them before they can find peace? This is my first time ever doing Nano. Shocking...I know. And I almost didn't this year. Reason why? I'm always already working on something when November comes and I don't want to put it aside. Well, this year was no different. I know someone out there is going to call me a cheater for this, however my goal like their's is to write 50,000 words this month. Confession time, I didn't start a new story. I currently have two work-in-progresses. One I want to hit 50,000 words and the other 30,000. When I began Nano, the first one was only are 16,000 and the other at 1500. With the motivation of Nano, in the past 5 days I have gotten my longer one to 24,000 and my shorter one to 4000. Pretty good in my opinion. While I might not be doing this the "correct" way, either way at the end of November, one of these will be complete and the other won't be far behind. And as long as I write the 50k, that's all that really matters, right? I will say, I don't usually push myself to write everyday. I have though this month. I am giving Nano my all. I haven't met my word count yet today, so my writing day isn't over yet. I think this will be good for me in the long run. If you're doing Nano, how's it going? The other week I got no writing done what so ever. Nada. I got small word counts in here or there, but I kept getting sucked back to facebook or twitter. I even tried to tell myself, when I hit 1000, I can check my networks. No such luck.
Finally, I closed out the browser after days of getting nothing accomplished except for looking at mindless streams of funny photos on facebook and peoples tweets on twitter. Once I finally closed out of those site and didn't have the option to minimize my word document to feed my addiction, I finally got some writing done. With Nanowrimo staring today, I knew I had to do it again. I had to close out those sites that suck my time like a thirsty vampire and write. The end results, I was happy, 2187 and I could've done more, but I have a sick child to tend to. While I love facebook and twitter, I think they are also pure evil to those who have access to them 24/7 like I do. I find sometimes I will close my computer down, only to relog back on ten minutes later from my phone! Seriously, is anyone else this darn connected as I am? So, for the month of November, with a 50k goal ahead of me, I'm going to step away as much as possible from these pesky sites. I will have designation times I can visit and hope and pray I can fight this addiction. Got any tips to share? Welcome to the second week installment to Holiday Kisses and my story, The Gift Beneath The Tree. Did you miss last weeks, you can find it HERE. Each week, I will be posting from my story, along with other Beachwalk Press authors on their days. And on December 3rd, you can download my book and the others for FREE! Tara won’t be spending Christmas with her family this year, but she’s not entirely alone. Her roommate, Brad, who's currently single, is also at home with her. Tara goes to bed Christmas Eve with hopes Santa might bring her what she most desires. After hearing a loud crash, she goes to investigate, and underneath the tree, she finds the present she’s been dying to unwrap. |
